Seeking Two Additional Team Members to join the Tū Mai Taonga Project
Operations Manager Vacancy
Are you ready to step up and make a difference as part of a new predator free project on Aotea Great Barrier Island?
The Tū Mai Taonga Project is seeking an Operations Manager to plan, lead and manage day to day operations.
You’ll be joining a small, dynamic project management team working under the leadership and tikanga of the Ngāti Rehua Ngātiwai ki Aotea Trust.
You’ll need to coordinate turning a feasibility study into an operational plan and then implement it by getting boots on the ground to meet funding milestones required through the Jobs for Nature programme.
This will involve establishing a field team for monitoring and ground-based trapping and control of feral cats and rats, initially in the north of the island.
The role is a full-time contractor position that involves office-based planning and time in the field.
You’ll bring to the role experience of delivering animal pest control programmes in the New Zealand environment, team building and management, and knowledge of health and safety, training, procurement, quality assurance and data management and reporting.
Ideally you’ll be a resident or connected to Aotea as you will be required to live on the island for a period of two years or more.
A commitment to operational best practice and technological innovation is required as the project aims to open new pathways to a predator free Aotea.
Contact email@example.com for a job description and more information. An immediate start is available for the successful applicant. You must be a NZ resident or have a current long term working Visa to apply. Applications should include a CV and covering letter.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday, 11 March.
