A new campaign - Call yourself a kiwi?

Imagine if you couldn’t call yourself a Kiwi — because there were none left.

Or if your business had to drop the name kiwi from its brand — or the wētā, or tūī, or kōkako — because predators had eaten away at our identity.

Every night in Aotearoa New Zealand, 68,000 native birds, including the kiwi, are killed by predators. Over 4,000 of our endemic species are at risk — our country now tops the global endangered species list.

Tū Mai Taonga is proud to be part of the Predator Free movement — and we are also proud to be part of the Call Yourself a Kiwi campaign. The campaign is encouraging people and businesses to donate to protect kiwi and other threatened wildlife, so we can protect our native taonga for generations to come.
